PRAYER AGAINST ALCOHOLISM

BIBLE TEXT(S):

Proverbs 23:29‭-‬35 NKJV

29. Who has woe? Who has sorrow? Who has contentions? Who has complaints? Who has wounds without cause? Who has redness of eyes? 

30. Those who linger long at the wine, Those who go in search of mixed wine. 

31. Do not look on the wine when it is red, When it sparkles in the cup, When it swirls around smoothly; 

32. At the last it bites like a serpent, And stings like a viper. 

33. Your eyes will see strange things, And your heart will utter perverse things. 

34. Yes, you will be like one who lies down in the midst of the sea, Or like one who lies at the top of the mast, saying: 35. “They have struck me, but I was not hurt; They have beaten me, but I did not feel it. When shall I awake, that I may seek another drink?”

 Leviticus 10:9-10

9. “Do not drink wine or intoxicating drink, you, nor your sons with you, when you go into the tabernacle of meeting, lest you die. It shall be a statute forever throughout your generations, 

10. that you may distinguish between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean,

Numbers 6:2-3

2. “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When either a man or woman consecrates an offering to take the vow of a Nazirite, to separate himself to the Lord, 

3. he shall separate himself from wine and similar drink; he shall drink neither vinegar made from wine nor vinegar made from similar drink; neither shall he drink any grape juice, nor eat fresh grapes or raisins.

Isaiah 61:6 NKJV

But you shall be named the priests of the Lord, They shall call you the servants of our God. You shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, And in their glory you shall boast.

Proverbs 31:4‭-‬7 NKJV

4. It is not for kings, O Lemuel, It is not for kings to drink wine, Nor for princes intoxicating drink; 

5. Lest they drink and forget the law, And pervert the justice of all the afflicted. 

6. Give strong drink to him who is perishing, And wine to those who are bitter of heart. 

7. Let him drink and forget his poverty, And remember his misery no more.

INTRODUCTION

Alcoholism can be referred as the act of addiction to alcoholic consumption.

Taking alcohol is against the counsel of God. It is a sin for anyone to take in

strong drink or wine.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Father thank you for your mercies that endures forever in Jesus name.

Psalm 136:1

Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.

2. Father, I confess and repent of every sin of alcoholism in my life, please show me your mercy in the name of Jesus 

1 John 1:9-10.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

3. Father, I break and loose myself from every stronghold of in my life in the

mighty name of Jesus. 

Matthew 18:18

“Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

4. Father, deliver me from the spirit of alcoholism in Jesus name. 

Psalm 18:50

Great deliverance He gives to His king, And shows mercy to His anointed, To David and his descendants forevermore.

5. Father, give me the grace to separate myself from all alcoholic friends in Jesus

name. 

Amos 3:3

6. Father, as many that secretly take in alcohol in your church, arrest and save their souls in Jesus name. 

Proverbs 28:13

He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.

7. Father any spirit of shame and disgrace programmed against me and my

family through alcohol be destroyed in Jesus name. 

Genesis 19:33-36

So they made their father drink wine that night. And the firstborn went in and lay with her father, and he did not know when she lay down or when she arose. It happened on the next day that the firstborn said to the younger, “Indeed I lay with my father last night; let us make him drink wine tonight also, and you go in and lie with him, that we may preserve the lineage of our father.” Then they made their father drink wine that night also. And the younger arose and lay with him, and he did not know when she lay down or when she arose. Thus both the daughters of Lot were with child by their father.

8. Father, I refuse to be a slave to the spirit of alcohol in Jesus name.

9. I will not sell my children for drinks in Jesus name.

They have cast lots for My people, Have given a boy as payment for a harlot, And sold a girl for wine, that they may drink.

10.Father, put your light into my life to put in order, every disorderliness caused

by the spirit of alcoholism in Jesus name. 

*John 1:5*

And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

11.My father, by your grace, I refuse to be deceived by strong drinks in Jesus name.

Wine is a mocker, Strong drink is a brawler, And whoever is led astray by it is not wise.

Wine makes you mean, beer makes you quarrelsome— a staggering drunk is not much fun.

12.Father every spirit assigned to empty my life be bound and casted out in the

name of Jesus. 

*Nahum 2:10*

She is empty, desolate, and waste! The heart melts, and the knees shake; Much pain is in every side, And all their faces are drained of color.

13.Father, every curse attracted into my life as a result of alcoholism be broken by the blood of Jesus, in Jesus name. 

*Revelation 12:11*

And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb, and because of the word of their testimony. And they did not love their soul until death.

And the blood shall be a sign to you upon the houses where you [are]. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you. And the plague shall not be upon you for a destruction when I smite in the land of Egypt.

14.Father, arise in your mercy and rescue my glory that have been shattered by alcoholic consumption in Jesus name.

5 lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.

15.Father, every spirit of alcoholism assigned to expose me to ridicule be

paralyzed in Jesus name.

22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brothers outside.
